Based on the cast, I have higher hopes for that than some of the other movies recently announced (TMNT, Power Rangers etc)

well if your scouring the internet for power rangers, that's a good way to lower your standards. It's a remake of a remake, and doesn't look anywhere near the standard of either of it's predecessors, it doesn't really play like a western in the trailer, plays more like a Micheal bay film

Hang on now. I scour much lower than Power Rangers. In fact I only came across that as I popped up for a breath!

In reality, it was front page on Reddit. As for the Magnificent 7, I like Chris Pratt, Denzel, D'Onofrio and Ethan Hawke. Hopefully it will be decent, especially, as the director has an excellent CV IMO (that would be Antoine Fuqua, he of Training Day, Tears of the Sun fame, although he does have Olympus has Fallen in there as well, and that was a bit......meh)

I like the cast also, disagree somewhat on the director, his CV reads like a list of pretty average action films (I haven't seen southpaw in fairness), I liked training day, but think Denzel's absolute tour de force performance elevated it, I guess he could do same here, but on first viewing it looks like a cheap version of a tarentino western, rather than a proper western, not sure the director has the chops to pull the later off anyway.
