Unai Emery

They're not really either Zat.

Emery is definitely more akin to Moyes than Koeman is, but that's about it, and the reason for that, as I stated in my previous post, is due to his tendency to be a bit too conservative. But there's no 'underdog mentality' with Emery.

The most boring negative football moyes played for us is quite similar to emery at sevilla. Even gamiero is a bit like bent and needs 4 or 5 chances to score and bar banega their midfield is very negative.

Based on sevilla we wont see any swashbuckling attacking play.

Like most Managers, his style reflects the opposition/type of game.

His tactics wont be the same against Real/Barca/Atletico as they would be against lets say Getafe and Levante. Likewise in Cup Finals etc. He'll be conservative in some games, whilst being more open in others.

Ive seen them a few times as i wanted to watch rico....played very high energy pressing and then negative on the ball...no exciting wingers and gamiero isnt a goalscorer more of a workmanlike foreard like bent.

reminded me of moyes team with bent when we came 4th.

We talking about 29 goals in 52 games in 2015/16 Gameiro here, Zat?

I'd rather we won negatively than lost positively.

This guy is. Where's your head at Zat?

He reminds me of a cross between tony pulis (playing defenders everywhere) and David moyes (when we finished 4th) based on sevilla last season.

Personally not excited as i find his football boring. Their best player is their keeper.

I see, didnt realise that so the previous 2 seasons they didnt even get into the champs league (if they hadnt won this season they would be in liverpools position right)....magnificent 7th.

Didn't even? So you consider finishing outside the top four in Spain a failure for a team with the biggest negative net spend in the league and consistently declining wage expenditure?

I think you're being overly critical. I seem to remember you stating that Martinez wasn't performing too badly based on comparable wage/transfer spending the the PL. Emery has performed beyond that criteria every season with Sevilla.

When they step it up mate (as they did in the second half against the RS, for example), they can carve open sides.

Emery prefers a solid base, but is then happy for the likes of Vitolo, Denis Suarez (last season), Banega etc. to have the freedom of the park.

I'm not sold on him either, but you're making out a manager who's won three consecutive Europa League's on the spot, all the while with a negative spend on a small budget (with the assistance/teamwork of Monchi) and consistently got them in the upper reaches of the league.

My ideal choice would still be Koeman, but Emery is definitely somebody who would improve us and heck, imagine:

- Emery
- Klopp
- Pep
- Mourinho

All within a stones throw of each other next year in the Prem.

Something like 40 goals in 90 games for them yeah.

Misses so many chances though and most of his work is outside the box pressing....good player for them, bit like marcus bent was for us that season.

I've not seen much of Sevilla but I can't believe someone has just compared a striker with a better than 1 in 2 last season to Marcus fkin Bent. This forum is going to be great today if we get more of that sort of quality posting lol

Marcus bent didn't even score 10 goals ffs

What's there not to like about him, he's a winner, take him all day long over the other candidates, if we can get him. And say after two years it turns out a bad decision, we get rid, because we can afford to, we have Moshiri as chairman he can get the best that our club is able to attain. At this present time in my opinion that is Emery.

If were talking about "one of the best managers in the world" id expect him to have the team playing a more interesting way for the viewing public....also finishing above 7th.

I'm not sure who you're quoting there. Anyway, you're all over the place and not coming anywhere close to countering a reasonable point.

I preferred it when you were just making up sex stories.
