is that Connelly, Browning, Gethin Jones then? I think Griffin the keeper is still at Motherwell isn't he?

oh and Evans must be back from Morecambe as well now.

The goalkeeper is Russell Griffiths, he is at Motherwell, he always looked a good keeper to me, but he is out of contact at the end of the season, don't know if he will be offered a new one.

Honestly, if I had the option in the next five years:
- win a few derbies
- Win a few trophies (including the League trophy at least once)

I know what I would choose.

Wasn't the best performance and their number 9 seemed to give our defence issues all game, perhaps a lad who could make the cut over there.

Some lovely passing inside to the full backs by us but sadly we try to over do it all the time it seems as the saints game showed the same. We probably needed to be more clinical bit considering they were champions then I imagine they were on all the other games haha

Players who stood out for me were probably Benny and kenny. Kenny looked much better than I last seen him and arguably our best player tonight. Benny got about in the second half and showed the sort of play that impressed me last time.

Just think it became laboured after they pounced on a mistake and despite it being Liverpool I think the players were just killing time until the final whistle really.

I have a video of tjem lifting the trophy. I'll try to upload it

Was a good game that really enjoyed it, sadly I would have to say Liverpool had the more technical ability. Harry Wilson and Grucic looked a class above anything we had. Dowell showed glimpses of quality mainly from deadball situations. Jonjoe Kenny was our best player on the night really impressive very similar to Coleman but with a great delivery.. Pennington looked horrific at times especially with the ball, Feeney will have a better pro career in my opinion. Williams showed glimpses but lacks a yard of pace and Baninginme looked very industrious.

Thanks for posting, our camera angle for the video feed was in the opposite stand so all we saw was a bunch of feet jumping and the top of the trophy bobbing above the hoarding lol
Nice to capture it for my son. He loved his first game and didn't seem to lose his interest once the crowd got into it a bit more when we started going for it. Falling asleep on the bus home he was listening to all my Everton stories about Campbell and amokachi and kancheslkis. Made the whole day special for me remembering I was his age when I first went.

I hope after tonight he starts to take more interest in football as I spent my time explaining what it means to be a blue.

Made me laugh that I turned to him during the game and said that we normally do lose against Liverpool and when he asked why, all I could say was 'No idea . But it was just a lovely night and a great father son experience for me especially being able to show him his team lifting a trophy at the end of the night.

Glad that he, and you, had an enjoyable time despite the scoreline. Was good for so many to turn out to support the lads, bet they appreciated it...well apart from those that ran on the pitch when they were trying to get back into the match ;)

As i said before that's one more trophy than what Liverpool won this year. It's a great sight isn't it?An Everton captain with a trophy in his hand.Winning is a very good habit to develop.Hopefully now some of these guy's will kick on now and win some trophies with the first team.Well done again to David Unsworth and the u23 squad on their title success. The future is bright the future is blue.Royal blue of course.;)

Thought we were poor for the first hour but improved for the final thirty. Just a sad fact that even our title-winning kids can't help but "do an Everton" against the RS' kids. The club is infected from top to bottom with it haha.

Good to see Besic looking sharp tonight, hopefully he gets a few minutes against Watford on Friday and Dowell looked a level above most of the others tonight as well.

Seeing a gang of kids who looked like the Goonies run on the pitch and give the half-hearted stewards the run around was funny for about 2 minutes but after that it got a bit tiresome.
Arguably they had there strongest team out possible at that level. While we had 6 or 7 out that would have made us a lot stronger. And we still dominated the 2nd half.

Last year a very young team won at their place 3-1. Are under 18's won 4-1 at their place. And we beat them 5-0 a few seasons back.

Just on the night things didn't run for us
