Either these have some kick-arse intell' , or we are officially a Third World State .

There were arrests last week , noting targets in the Uk , France and Germany , but this is specific , and off the top of me head I cannot recall any such similar warning . Even after 9/11 .

The Threat Level IS currently ; Severe , but still .

The fukas win merely by the universal apprehension . Job done . Back to a game of Cave-Bowls this afternoon .

So , paranoid or merely forearmed ???

You've got these snides trying to blow up planes with liquid explosives, that look like soft drinks.

You've got shoe bombs.

You've got snides planning attacks and smuggling weapons.


Avoid public places - means don't go advertising who you are etc in large events.

They have to issue these warnings man. IF some one was warning you your house was possibly going to go on fire, but they felt like that they shouldn't scare you unnecessarily... you'd be pissed if it burnt down.

In part it is a story about the biggest cyber crime bust of all time. And that France is acting in a manner that is a magnet for trouble (banning veils, illegally deporting romanian gypsys) on top of which there are a lot of hystrionics surrounding the common welath games, granted not Europe, but any excuse. Also 4 were done last week in Denmark for trying to off that cartoonist that made the headlines in 2006.

I love religion, it has been such a productive and loving influence on humanity.

It won't be AK47's it'll be mac-10's or something that they can buy from criminals

thing is and you've got to hope that as we have better comm's and mobile units that if something started we could contain it better then bring in special forces


thats what the Indian's didn't do early enough

i.e. police units implement road blocks and have firepower to repel them

then special forces can do forced entry and neutralise them

the problem is they're suicidal and therefore unless its a hostage situation they'd wait them out.

But what with suicide vests / car bombs and coordinated attacks etc. they'd try neutralise them asap.

It was ever thus thos Mutz.

During the cold war there were the IRA, the Arabs (Libyans, Iranians etc) then there were groups like Red Faction in Germany.


It's never gone away. People were nativity (naive) thinking it had!

Difference is now they aim to die when then attack. As part of the attack.


But the tactics for containment and response are the same.


Security forces Communications is key. Response from first report of attack to security forces on scene is much lower these days.

Plus in UK we have some of the best security forces in the world for this sort of thing.
