Thought he was ok and positive. Surprised at some opinions doing rounds today today that he was awful.
Said during the game, if we want forward players who try to make things happen rather than rolling it back to the full back, they will lose the ball, get tackled, put crosses in that no-one reacts to making them look crap. Better to applaud the bravery with the ball and encourage them to have another go.
Highlights the issue with Dibling. He so far hasn’t really tried to do much of anything, and an atmosphere that makes him terrified of losing the ball won’t help.
We really needed to be 3 nil up a few times to give him 20minutes cameos early in the season. Feels like his carefree cameo period came and went and he is now firmly in the bin. George has played in big games already so hopefully has got past that fear.
We’ve given Barry 6 months to “settle” and Beto still looks like he needs to settle some more. So two thirds of a match for George feels a little harsh to write him off.
consistently received the ball with his back to the defender. Who then hounded him, so passed it back. Never had the chance to get into that game if that is the way we play. Need to play 433. So he plays directly off Barry and can link up easily Ndiaye
Yeah, gonna give him more than a game to make a complete judgement on him as that would be silly.
Pleased Moyes is playing a young new player though, need more risk taking from him like this.
