2025/26 Tyler Dibling

That's not true though, Mykelenko was trying to overlap every chance he could.

There was nothing on offer for Dibling on the right

100% agree

Even with a decent right back, he'd have still found it difficult today. A few decent touches against Forest earlier in the week but you can tell he's found it tough to make the transition.

We need an attacking right back urgently as we all know. Thats the only way to help Dibling and Ndiaye and add balance to the team.

Forest was mostly defending and he was fine and offered a threat. But then the right back was removed...

...its just awful management.

Im talking in general terms regarding how Grealish manages his workload when he's doubled up on. 90% of the time (and rightly so) he'll ignore Mykolenko because he knows within 5 seconds the ball is just handed back to the opposition.

Having another player in support is at the very least a question to the opposition.

Imagine if Grealish was left alone on the left today for 45mins. He would do nothing.

He absolutely was not offering an overlap, he chose to stay on the inside almost every time he laid it off. No undercutting run to the space on the outside, no overlapping run to the space on the outside. Just constantly settled back in the congested midfield or back to cover his defensive

Thats not quite true as he ran past the 2 defenders on Grealish right behind them so Grealish had a ball between them.

Also was inside and outside maybe 5-10 yards away from Grealish giving an option that the defenders had to think about.

Meanwhile on the right side...Dibling totally isolated.

No matter what, that is poor management as was hooking a 19 year old kid for the managers awful tactics and setup.

Scapegoated.

Can't keep blaming the fullbacks for the likes of Dibling and Grealish having poor games. It isn't an excuse that is brought out when McNeil stinks the gaff out, so why should it be when others do?

We quite evidently need better fullbacks, but it doesn't excuse this lads performance today.

This isn’t me having a go at Dibling, read my other messages. Mykolenko is turgid and him offering a 2 yard pass in a congested midfield being lauded is a joke. Congratulations, one example in a 90 minute game is not the gotcha you need, it proves the point exactly. We lack width, Mykolenko didn’t offer it once, Grealish managed to put in a good cross based off his own quality. Playing on the wings for Everton is a redundant task with OBRien and Mykolenko behind them.

So you can swerve with your ‘scapgoated’ directed at me

I worry that decent young players won’t want to come. We are not giving them a chance. Getting a few minutes here & there & then expected to come in for full games with essentially no experience & no support.

Getting pulled at half time again isn’t going to help him.
Seriously did you go FFS the manager had no choice but to hook him.. leaving him on would have damaged him more imo.

Scapegoated was what he was, by Moyes.

If you remember Mykolenko was 5-15 yards around Grealish whenever Grealish had the ball in advanced positions.

You could see Armstrong covering for him a couple of times on the left back role!

Its a huge difference to having no one within 30 yards.

I would guarantee that if the roles were reversed and Dibling had ANYONE supporting him today within 5-15 yards then he'd have had a chance.

Moyes' plan was "get it to Jack". Get bodies around Grealish.

Then hes had the opportunity at any point to bring on a RB and chosen against it and hooked a kid.

Thats very poor confidence sapping scapegoating.

….i’ve only been to BMD twice, he started both games and got hooked in each at half-time

It was a very poor performance but you hope he’d be better with a top drawer full-back and KDH inside. Saying that, Grealish overcame the same issues and was able to contribute, I suppose that’s the level Dibling has to aspire to.

A few times he had the ball and had absolutely no option. O'Brien and Iroegbunam were so far away they may as well have been at Goodison.

He's not got the pace to stretch play, he looks to cut in so you need bodies around him.

Grealish misses Dewsbury-Hall for the same reason.
Brentford surrounded him with two or three players, knowing he would have to beat them all or go backwards, as there was no other outlet.

That's true, but he had zero control over the ball today. He looked like one of those kids at school who are hopeless playing footy and who always got picked last for a game.
