2025/26 Tyler Dibling

He's gone from a club where the manager couldn't stop saying how amazing he is, to here, where moyes looks to have subdued him.
I missed the game yesterday but did notice in a recent match that alcaraz was passing backwards far more than last season.
Its maybe as if moyes has told these fringe players that they need to cut back on trying to do too much maverick stuff and keep it simple.
Dunno, may be I'm over thinking things.

I thought he looked good in parts yesterday.

He looks like he might be a bit overawed at the level quality we have out wide atm and it might take Grealish going back to City or elsewhere for him to come through and make a wide berth his place.

I see the talent though. Just a pity he doesn't have that little bit of extra pace.

He’s stuck between wanting to not give the ball away and knowing that he is a player that is expected to make things happen. So he’s getting the ball, squaring up to his man wondering if he should take him on whilst wiggling his feet, the double team arrives and the safety first thought creeps back in and he passes inside. Makes it look like he’s playing too slowly. To be fair Grealish does the same but for different reasons.

He will be fine if he can just learn to play instinctively angain and without worrying so much about how his performance “looks”.

I can cope with him losing the ball high up the pitch if the rest of the time he is panicking the defenders, getting crosses in and causing a bit of chaos. An overlapping teammate would work wonders.

The big thing you omitted of course was that the movement ahead of him needs to be there for him to also have the option to release a forward pass. Beto and especially Barry dont give him that...or anyone else in the team for that matter.

Didn't do a massive amount but think he's at least shown the obvious technical ability which sadly some of our signings can't even do.
I measure it by my gut reaction as a pass from a teammate approaches him. I felt confident it would be well controlled and held long enough to keep possession...can't say that about many playing yesterday. Seems like the rest of the team felt the same.

Hype and expectations have shaped some people's opinions of him. I thought he looked decent. Drew defenders, and provided good passes into space. Unfortunately, no one seemed to be awake around him yesterday to take advantage. Many times, his talents just took him into a cul-de-sac with no way out. There are too many statues in our team. I hope we buy some pace in January, but not holding my breath.
