2025/26 Tyler Dibling

This forum - and twitter etc - is absolutely chock full of people who can't wait to write off young players after about 3 matches and call them useless.

Everyone wants the exciting young players but loads of blues can't deal with the reality of developing them
Indeed. West Ham fans used to abuse Frank Lampard, claimed he was fat, said he was only in the team as his uncle was the manager. He decided to leave, go to Chelsea and took great pleasure in ramming their words down their throats.

But this isn't a player who really needs developing. He played 30+ matches last season in the Premier League. Obviously he needs to develop further but there is a lot of hesitancy from Moyes regarding his playing time. The league has tons of teenage wingers who are ripping everything up. But our manager is asking for patience? Just don't get for what.

So you drop N’Diaye for Dibling?

He got homesick and had to leave his Chelsea carreer and return to Southampton, it was 50 minute drive between training facilities.

Dibling will get his chance when the African Cup begins. We should trust the coaches to integrate him at a steady pace.
Sorry mate, my trust in any coach is shaken when they select McNeil as a sub/starter in any game ahead of other players.

Theres no excuse you or anyone can make for our management, Dibling has been handled/managed/coached really badly by Everton.

Sorry yeah you're absolutely right. I was responding to how everyone wants young players with potential re: the fanbase. I totally agree about Moyes being waaay too conservative with letting him play.

Although I think two things are true: he needs a lot of developing, AND he is ready to contribute something right now.

The best way to develop him is to play him.

And we all know he's going get either very few or zero minutes away against Utd, which leaves 4 games before Ndiaye goes away to AFCON and he *needs* to play having had no chance to get settled, get some confidence and get match sharpness. It's so annoying.

….every Evertonian wants Dibling to be the real deal but it’s perfectly reasonable to comment on his performances so far which have been very disappointing.

I’m sure nobody is ‘writing him off’, let’s hope we start seeing signs of his talent when he next gets an opportunity.

Nobody's suggesting that. Dibling isn't gettting any minutes at all at the moment though. Moyes brought McNeil on first against City and Dibling got 4 minutes at the end.

….i’d assume Moyes is thinking McNeil is the better option at the moment. Given the match situation, I was actually pleased to see McNeil come on at Sunderland, except his cameo turned out to be dreadful.

It’s not rocket science this, I dare say Dibling will get his chance next and it’s up to him to take it.

McNeil is NEVER the best option at ANY moment.
He's gone , offers nothing at all , shiits out of tackles , hides from the ball.

Now i dont know what has gone wrong with the lad , but its pretty obvious he has no future here and being picked in front of others is a major flaw from the manager.

I'm sure you and many others are engaging in good faith and not writing him off, but there really are plenty doing so too.

Also, I would actually gently disagree, I really don't think it's reasonable to comment on *sixty five minutes* of league play and describe them as very disappointing. There is nothing to judge in that small a sample size.
