2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Would you rather have spent £40m on 2 quality full backs or the money on Dibling?

I think we would have a far better team if we had spent the money elsewhere.
But that was never on the cards though. Its not like if we didn't get Dibling we would've got others because the club simply didn't value replacing full backs this summer. It's would you rather 40 million on Dibling or not spend at all?

I'm not trying to rewrite history, simply pointing out that in my opinion the £40m could have much better spent.

Yes Zat, and we have short term problems. Potentially critical ones at that.

Dibling and Barry solve none of them.

Actually;

KDH, Barry, Rohl dont seem to be solving any of the "short term problems".

Grealish (after much initial fanfare) and Ndiaye are adorned with opposition markers while KDH either passes to Grealish or is anonymous.

Rohl is injury prone and Barry isnt hitting the ground running.

Alcaraz should be at 10 and Dibling should be rotating with Ndiaye who looks tired after 60mins every game.

Its not about signing young high potential players, its about Moyes picking favourites.

If Ndiaye got injured tomorrow then Dibling would be playing every game so we can’t say we didn’t need him. Everyone was crying out for a right winger all summer. The problem has been that he’s not been played enough.
I don't know.

That seems to be where Alcaraz plays if he's in from the start.

AFCON comes then Gana & Ndiaye are out.

KDH could drop back to replace Gana.
Alcaraz to replace KDH in the 10.
Dibling for Ndiaye.
Possibly, yeah.

May depend on how serious Moyes is about integrating Rohl (I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking at with him yet, but others seem to think he's similar to Gana) and whether or not McNeil has a future here beyond January.

Usually safe to assume that Moyes will go with those he sees as reliable in terms of work off the ball.

re the last two points, i agree, NDiaye is on scintillating form and he does so much great attacking and defensive work, which means he is knackered and less effective (generally) by around 65-70 mins, he covers so much ground and is often having to start dribbles from standing because of how we move the ball to him and because obrien isnt supporting him. that amount of accelerations is so taxing on the body and on the nervous system

also no other right winger in the league apart from Salah or Saka is playing 90 mins every week, they all get subbed at some point

the caveat is that he’s currently a much higher level than dibling, and he can produce moments like the cross for Grealish’s goal which is probably why moyes is reluctant to sub him

Dibling has shown nothing that demands that Moyes should be selecting him ( rotation or otherwise) and even less to justify a fee of £40 million.

Honestly someone's head should roll for agreeing that fee.
