Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

That is fine mate, but if we wanted this player, why are we bidding for him five weeks into pre-season?
Err, because we were trying to get other players higher up the list first, or maybe Saints had no interest in selling earlier and have changed their minds, we just don't know. You have a completely baffling lack of understanding of transfer realities though.

This doesn’t compute when we are a football club who arguably need more players than any other club in the division, and a lot of other clubs have managed to get deals done from the get go.

Our own manager is on record as saying we aren’t ready for the season to start, this isn’t normal.
Your right it isn’t normal but it wasn’t created by this ownership it was allowed to happen by the previous one, and of all the deals that have happened how many have you thought they where players we should have got, could have got or would have improved us??

I understand it’s not an ideal situation but I believe the club is doing its best to move us forward.

For far to long we haven’t had a strategy or aspiration, personally I would rather stick to the strategy and try to make real change. Just my opinion!

Despite us losing half our squad, the new owners promising solid business and the manager openly stating we are well behind where we wanted to be in our recruitment

I cannot think of one reason why, if sibling was our first choice in his position , why we would have just waited weeks - even since the psr window of July 1st - we don’t appear to have even approached him or saints until last week

It can’t have been a plan
Well maybe he wasn’t our first choice, but none of us know the plan. Just because you can’t think of a single reason doesn’t mean there isn’t one.

Without site of the plan nobody can be sure, they still have some way to go and I will agree it hasn’t gone the way they wanted it to but we are trying to correct years of mismanagement and a terrible image.

It also isn’t all down to the club, the selling club and player play a part in a transfer, hence its complexity!

Sir - I’m hearing unconfirmed reports of a 2nd Dibling bid hitting Southampton’s inbox ..

A shortlist I would assume is not just a question of quality but quality in regards to evaluation.

Dibling is one of the hottest prospects in the country. And with that comes an inflated market thats going to cost a steep fee.

Im sure we had others circled in Europe that may have been higher on a priority list mainly because of the likely cheaper transfer. I don't think thats necessarily a reflection on Dibling, but more how his likely fee might affect other deals.

If you have to spend 40+ million for the highest ranked option, but have another option for 20 million, for a player slightly worse but close to your same evaluation the math is what it is.

All to say this coming late has an explanation and doesn't surprise me.

What ive read and heard is Southampton have to sell and most value in order by some distance is Dibling then Fernandes, the Keeper has been loaned out for the season.
