Our sticking point was the sell-on fee. We wanted Southampton to come down on the initial cash payment (if the % was staying the same) or we wanted the % to come down for a bigger up front fee. Thats why we stopped speaking to them, they wouldn't budge.

Reckon we might've heard from agent/intermediaries that they're more likely to compromise? Or does it not really work like that

We all think it’s a desparate situation at t(r moment so understandably we assume it is us with a fresh approach and it may well be, but equally it has been reported that Southampton are in need of cash for team and squad reinforcements so they may be just as desparate as we seem to be.
