Confirmed Signing Tyler Dibling

Richarlison was two years older than Dibling when we bought him, and was coming off a season in which he had scored five goals for Watford and none after November. People were up in arms at that fee at the time, and then by about October it was a joke in his song.

The lesson from Richarlison is that sometimes you have to take the punt on a higher fee for a young attacking player if you really believe in his potential. We were right then, and I do think we'd be right again with Dibling.
Exactly mate.

if mcatee is going for 22 mil + addons then surely southampton need to be realistic with their valuation

even omari hutchison is going for less than 40 mil

Only if they want to sell him. What's it worth getting promoted back to the PL for them? If they sell him, how much is a replacement who, in their minds, can make promotion as likely as keeping Dibling?

The kid may not be worth £40m+ but if Southampton are looking at this on the basis that they need a replacement whose net impact in the Championship is the same and that's going to cost them £20m, then they may well take the view that it's worth taking a bath on his price next year on the basis that net they'll achieve to be in the same position and push for promotion just isn't worth it.

I feel like this is the reverse of Gylfi...

They're going to progressively offer him for less, until we say yes or someone else swoops in.
