TV Series

Started watching The Last Kingdom over the last few days. Missus enjoys it so we've done 1 or 2 episodes a night and we'll probably watch the last episode of Series 1 tonight.

Pretty decent but the pacing seems a bit fast - significant events are kind of done with in an episode or two and you can tell the budget doesn't stretch to big battles in the first series at least and instead lines them up and then skips to the aftermath, usually an important character severely wounded...unless there's a big finale on the horizon now that Alfred's burnt the cakes and is preparing for a big showdown.

Uhtred seems to have a fair bit of plot armour as well -
Never, never fight Ubba?? Why paint a character as the ultimate big bad and then have him killed fairly easily one on one?

Still enjoying it though.

the way he won was alot about luck and also uhtred isnt a bad swordsman himself.

Its a great series...binge watch it and go back and watch it all again when im bored.

Just gets better and better + when you think its going downhill theres always a twist with something happening.

Really finding it difficult to keep watching Ozark.

Enjoyed the first season but the second was extremely painful to watch. I have turned it off several times just to get that awful blonde girl Ruth off my screen.

I struggle to get through a full episode now, just into the third season.

Don't think I'll end up finishing it, same as with Ray Donovan.

The books are sound...Cornwell mostly alway is.
Theres a section where the action is on the south bank of the Mersey, north of Chester, which mentions the savages North of the river...I think they mean Bootle
