TV Series

I wonder how it’s been received in Russia !

From what I've read the general public (the ones that pay to watch HBO/SKY shows) are impressed by it, the Kremlin, well not so impressed. So much so in fact that they have pumped in some money to create a version of it on the state owned TV channel. Don't know if you read already but their version is going to show that a CIA agent was involved in the disaster.

So while they were watching this they obviously didn't pick up on the main conclusion: Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, the debt is paid. That is how an RBMK reactor explodes...

Chernobyl has been a cracking series, it deserves the praise it gets. Shame it was a short series, it’s not like they can add a series 2 when they covered the whole disaster so quickly.
Also, the Kursk accident. But that would be mostly free speculation since they all drowned unfortunately

A dramatisation of Fukushima could be interesting. Different causes and all that, but still

I’ve only just got over the dodgy Russian accents portrayed by British Actors, I don’t think I can handle the Japanese depiction haha.

Admittedly the Fukushima disaster would be an interesting one, I kind of feel that was swept under the rug within a year or so.

I takes a bit of getting used to yeah. Yes,I feel like Fukushima somehow just disappeared from our minds. Like nothing happened. But you have to Google it actively to get information.

I agree, strangely the Fukushima disaster was dragged up in conversation with a couple of German friends last week, they said they’re shutting down their Nuclear Reactors over there because they don’t believe it’s stable or clean energy, puts me on edge about Sellafield etc.

You should listen to the podcast that follows each episode, the director explains why this happened

Germans have expanded the solar/windenergy enormously. Plus they buy from us. Sellafield is infamous in Norway because of radioactive leaks that supposedly ended up i here. I welcome more of this type of series
