TV Series

christ that s1 e3 of Black Mirror was uncomfortable as hell...massive props tho', 9/10.

also another impressive lead actor...i'm very impressed myself how well-made and thought-provoking all 3 eps have been so far. i used to enjoy Charlie Brooker's biting-mad Guardian columns, but this is a whole nother level, he's created high art here.

Find the whole thing pretty hit or miss. There are some great episodes but a fair few dud ones.

It's a bit to in your face 'technology is bad, maaan' and 'makes you think' at times. Still enjoyable tho.

Still found S1E1 the most uncomfortable episode to date. E2 was just weird..

The 'White Christmas' one with Jon Hamm is one of my favourites - great actor and a great episode in general.

Seemed to remember enjoying the earlier seasons more.

That one was great. Nice to see John Hamm not playing the bumbling idiot dad he has somehow been typecasted into these days. Love him (I'm am a very big Mad Men fan).

I watch Homes Under the Hammer occasionally and I saw an episode the other day where a property in Liverpool sold, and
at the 'after' part the scruffy bloke who usually presents it stopped at a window and praised the view.
'No, it's not open fields, and it's not a herd of Wildebeest sweeping across the prairie, it's Everton football ground', he said.

The view turned out be of the back of the park end stand, but there are no houses there, are there? The house was in a pretty fancy street and I tried to find it on Google Earth but there was nothing like it that I could see.

It was obviously a property in the area, but can anyone tell me where it was? It was fairly recent because he made the point that the view mightn't be an attraction for much longer because Everton are looking to build a new stadium away from Goodison Park.

could it have been Salop Street perhaps..

oh my! my second-favourite ever series, behind only the modern Battlestar Galactica.

Seasons 1 & 2 from 1989/1990 are charming, dark & bizarre...there's some weak guff during the 2nd-half of Season 2 as Lynch & Frost went on sabbatical, but they returned just in time. Thereafter watch the Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me movie which fills some gaps and is very well made....

...then fast-forward 25 years later to Season 3 which just came out last year...oh wow...no one was expecting that haha

i mentioned earlier that a certain Season 3 episode is my favourite episode from any TV ever...let us know once you cain the whole series what you thought of it.

Or do a roving report like i'm doing with Black Mirror

I shall let you know! I tend to fly through series and my current man flu means I get a weekend to myself in bed so I shall get through lots.

if not try oxton street...

salop street might be too far back , but it does look on to the park end
No, it wasn't Salop St or Oxton St. This street has residential properties on both sides and they have black wrought iron fences and gates and pathways about five yards long up to the door and small front lawns. I thought it might be Spellow Lane
but no. I've gone back as far as Anfield Rd, but I can't find anything that looks anything like the one I'm looking for anywhere.
It's not important, I know, but it's annoying me. Thanks, anyway, I'll keep looking.

sound like they were just bulling on the tv !!

the toerags

Second season was also pretty terrible tbh, like little house on the prairie but with some token zombies chucked in. The show peaked on the pilot episode, had such high hopes after that, was hoping for some proper epic big budget apocalyptic [Poor language removed] but instead they decided to cut costs, sack the good writers, replace them with dunderheads and have the entire show shot in the same friggin area for 10 seasons or however long its gone on for now.

They could have had them travelling all over the US, loads of different settings, keep it fresh... but nope, lets just make a soap opera with zombies in the same friggin woods that we've been in since season 1. It's just a money spinner at this point, they know that no matter how crap they make it there will always be enough geeks who can still find enjoyment in token zombie death scenes.

Have you ever watched - Z Nation ?.

It`s a total tongue in cheek piss take, that wasn`t supposed to last the course, but now on it`s fifth season.

It`s real B movie stuff, but good fun and watchable.
