I thought it was an American re-make of the BBC series Criminal Justice? I really enjoyed that one and based on reviews for this will definitely watch it.

Personally I think John Tuturro is arguably the most underrated actor of all time. He is playing the part brilliantly so far could have been written for him as he was 3rd choice!
Sign of a great actor, rather than always having to have parts essentially written for them.
yes thats worked on many occasions the biggest one was James Coburn turning the spaghetti westerns down as they did not offer him enough cash, and a certain Clint Eastwood desperate for work - history being made!

I think sly stallone was 1st choice for the beverly hills cop films but turned it down and eddie murphy done them.couldnt imagine them films with stallone.
