Why do you feel so entitled that the show has to be good for you? You do this with Star Wars stuff too. You said you didn't like it after the half the first episode., just turn the telly off 😂

Lol. I think its perfectly reasonable for anyone to expect a show to be good and be critical when you feel its not. Its odd that you would suggest otherwise. I think it perfectly reasonable expect them to follow the basic story/lore people like Tolkien had.

For the record I did turn off Star Wars after half the first episode of Ahsoka. I haven't watched anything SW related since (though I might watch Andor season 2) I never even watched the Acolyte beyond the odd clip here and there. Judging by the fact that the show was cancelled due to low viewing figures. Loads of people did the same thing.

FYI, no its not. Nothing Tolkien related is canon (including the pretty much universally loved films) other then the written word of the man himself.

More than happy to speak via dm about what source material they're using in the show, there's a lot of very upset incels. Sorry it was just a joke at you never learning when to stop watching something.

I remember enjoying that but like all long running series it got messier and convoluted. Held up pretty well for a while though.

Is the pilot the one where they go to great lengths to dispose of a body or cover up a murder? By the latter seasons they were dropping people left, right and centre in public with absolutely no qualms whatsoever as the writing got lazier and it tried to up the action.

Fair enough mate. And I agree, there's a lot of upset angry weridos complaining about nonsense issues like black Hobbits, Dwarves ect, woman being at the forfront of the stories and other totally none issues. Its odd. Maybe you see my problems with the show (like characters acting totally at odds with everything we know about them) in the same way but I truthful don't think it is. I do agree though that perhaps it would be better for me to stop watching Rings of Power the exact same way I have all Star Wars content and save myself from wasting time.

I think you should persevere with an open mind, I will admit having read every book the estate has released (and there are many) that it gives me bias with knowing how things play out. It would frustrate people who have watched the movies and I'm sure, seeing some characters not be the same. There's a lot of character development to come that's all I'll say.

BTW Acolyte was awful, I didn't watch half the episodes, I jumped in after someone said there was a good episode and then it went to absolute plop again after.
 

George Martin has gone all in today with his critics of HOTD.
He even spoiled season 3 and warns "there will be toxic reactions against the changes the writers will make in seasons 3 and 4".

Seems like he decided to completely burn the bridges with showrunners/HBO.
