I finally finished the first series last night, I took my time on this one, like one epidode a week max.....OMG, its amazing, you were right!!

This is very good too.

The intertwining of organised crime, the Vatican and politicians in Rome.

Some brave plot lines too, with homosexuality in amongst it all.

Got to TLOU episode 4 and not sure if I'll continue. I thought episode 3 was really beautiful storytelling but I'm only 50-50 the others.

Y/N should I continue?

Is it to do with the film?

I read somewhere its set about 15 years after the film events, also that its not great.

Not really. The film and this are based on a spaghetti Western from the 60’s but from the sounds of it Tarantino went in quite a different direction. Django in the original and in the new TV series is white and so clearly not an ex-slave for a start.

Ah fair, I love Westerns but the reviews are wank for this. I liked Matthias Schoenaerts in The Drop so might give it a go for him.

It’s a whisker away from being good as Gomorrah.

I genuinely don’t know why it’s never got the acclaim it deserves.

I would say foreign language and subs can sometimes not help but Gomorrah seems to have done ok

Suburra is just the same.

The way the Vatican is portrayed in it, must’ve caused some trouble.

I think it all depends on the language, if its a too quick paced language it can be hard as your focus gets stuck on the subs, but I don't mind subs in general cos it really makes you concentrate more on what your watching..

This is a good point, subs stops you messing on your phone when your watching a film.
