TV Series

Elves: They're fine
Halflings: They're a whatever, could have cut them from the show
Man who fell from the Stars: You should have issues here lol
Dwarves: Best part of the show
Numenoreans: Fine
Southlanders: Fine

Ok then we’ve finished season 1 and I’m happy, although I need to rewatch the last 2 episodes

I like the development of the man who fell from the stars. The deception of Sauron is well done. I had some idea because I went searching for characters new to me and that spoiled some, but I thought that was well done overall. I have some questions on the elves, but am generally happy.

in the Autumn went through all 80 eps of the classic Star Trek series. Something i've wanted to get round to for decades.

Went better than expected...it's the strongest Star Trek series for me: full of timeless sci-fi philosophising, and crucially without giving clear answers, or overwrought emoting. Once you get over the datedness of the production there's a lot to like. I also appreciated that every episode was its own thing: no need to watch in order or marathoning.

Top 5 eps for the curious, these are highly-recommended for any sci-fi fans:
