TV Series

That 'Liverpool 1' cop show from the 90s staring Mark Womack and Samantha Janus is on Amazon, mad clocking parts of the city that aren't there anymore on it like the Buzz Club and Paradise Street before Liverpool One was built.

Can't get into this season yet, watched most of it and it's just not gripping me. Weird like.
Whilst still enjoyable, I would agree with you.
The last two episodes of part one brought it back into line.
Sub consciously I think our enjoyment was tempered with knowing the programme was nearing its end. The lead actor Jason Bateman said it was really difficult to perform because of that.

At this point I just need to see Wendy get chopped up.

Binged Toast of Tinseltown last weekend.

Thought it was good in parts but didn't enjoy it as much as previous series. Maybe more to do with me binging it which I hadn't done with the others first time round but it did seem like the same few jokes are getting stretched a little thin now and leans a bit on cameos and guest appearances.

Would be some documentary if they manage that

It did actually make me think he is less of a scrote but then I'm pretty sure that's what its designed to do. It was a decent documentary, nothing amazing, some cool behind scenes footage and it was quite interesting to see inside the life of a legitimate superstar. There was a bit too much talk about the Neymar brand but to be fair it seemed like his Dad was more interested in it than Neymar.

Been watching the 2018 reboot of Magnum, P.I. this week. Ashamed to say I'm enjoying it immensely.

The actor playing Rick is pretty good, a definite upgrade on the original. The decision to rewrite Higgins as a woman has definitely made the relationship between Magnum and Higgins more multi-layered... Plus the actress, Perdita Weeks, is absolutely stunning.

I live in the states and I just discovered in the line of duty. I'm not a big police procedural person, if it does involve cops I like a more in depth social commentary like the wire or an weirdly existential and gritty experience like true detective season 1 but I was really captivated by the show despite it's more overly melodramatic and soap opera like moments. At least till season 4 which I haven't been able to get pulled into like the previous seasons. But until then I found the show excellent.

4 is the worst by some distance in my opinion. As you say it has soap opera moments in general and you just have to go along for the ride sometimes. But season 4 is so bad. 5 is great though, probably my favourite of the lot. 6 is pretty rubbish too unfortunately.
