Not for me , thanks ,..

However , my Sister an' Fambo have been going to the same place in Marmaris , for about 8 years .

They've become mates with the Geezer an' that , now ,..

However , I got the brains . She got the looks ,..

I shall say no more on the subject .

I knew you'd be first in, top man.

Thats what i thought, not for me, but my missus has been quite a few times and says its lovely. We're a bit more of a chilled out couple so no silly clubbing magaluf style, just wanna chill out, beach, pool, and you know....you know.

Just been reading a combo of great reviews and DON'T COME HERE's!!!

I've been a few places and the whole "Brits Abroad" thing just makes me facepalm like this.

They say travel broadens the mind but I reckon going with a "Ive never met a nice Turk in my life" attitude wont be conducive to having a great laugh with the locals. If you can keep an open mind it may be worth it. Tis meant to be cheap over there.

I've had a bit of a poor run in with Turks myself. Although I met a really cool one this Summer to make up for some of the [Poor language removed] ones I've encountered in the past. It didn't help that my old landlord was turkish or the guy at the beer shop who kept trying to short change me was Turkish.

See I have considered this. To assume all Turks are bad is very narrowminded. Just read loads of stuff about Turkish hotels double booking as a matter of course, blokes getting cornered and battered for complaining about their girlfriends getting harrassed etc...

I've been in some close scrapes the world over and survived, is this a bridge too far or am I jumping to conclusions...??

Help....again.

If you want to avoid trouble go completely off the tourist map. Find yourself somewhere remote, a place to stay for a week or two, eat in local places that don't get any foreigners, hire a car and travel round.

I imagine as is usually the case with these things you will be treated after initial curiosity has worn off, like visiting royalty and will find the people to be as warm and generous as anywhere in the world.

Hanging round a tourist area with loads of english getting drunk, young lasses with their tits out - the turks probably think they are up for grabs - which by the definition of their culture is about right. Just be loads of young bucks out to start a fight with the foreigners - its the same anywhere the english invade en masse.

Immerse yourself in the local culture, customs and cuisine and you'll see a friendlier side of Turkey and your more likely to become acquainted with its unique riches. Maybe learn something about the world and yourself.

I've travelled all over mate, but I avoid the english tourist traps like the plague.
