He reminds me of Dirk Kuyt only likeable. Not sure if that's a good thing. He makes 60K at Boro (who got him on a free) so doubt we could afford his wages + a transfer fee.

I'm told he's a genuinely nice bloke who loves playing football, and wants to succeed in the prem.

I had a quick google but couldn't find anything confirming his salary or the length of his contract.

Either way if boro go down he'll be moving on. If he's on a three year contract, with only a year left the fee won't be huge and boro will be wanting him off the payroll.

If I understand him correctly he will be looking for regular first team football over an unfeasibly high salary so that would rule out Chelsea, Utd and them. Man City is a possible but will depend on who they bring in to replace Hughes and what his wish list is. Also on how he views City's potential. Either way City would be a gamble and obviously he'd be far better moving to a club with a settled management and team.

He's always been someone that's reminded me of Tommy Gravesen in that when he's on form he shows a lot of genuine talent but he can do something brilliant at 1 point of a game then be crap for the rest of it. Far too inconsistent to rely on but someone that if you stick with, is always capable of producing something spectacular

It has taken him some time to acclimatize - the Turkish league is very different - much slower and drop in quailty outside the top handful of teams is more marked.
And he hasn't fully realised his potential at Boro to be sure. But then neither have boro.
I would be interested to see what he could do in a better team, and if boro go down I'm sure I will.

we were linked with him 2 seasons ago i believe. at that point i would have said yes, but the fact that he's spent time in the premier league means his price will be overinflated, and honestly we can't afford that.

I like him and he's a good, versatile player in my opinion. Boro did a good business signing him as a free agent and he deserves to play for a better team.
But even with all his versatility Second Striker is his favorite position and I don't think we need to strentghen with Cahill and Fellaini already in the squad.
