Travel thread 3.0

I’m off on a tour of Japan next month with a tour company. I’ve got 2 days in Tokyo to myself at the end. I’m staying in Shinjuku. Anyone got any recommendations of things to check out/bars, restaurants to eat? I’ve already booked tickets for Teamlabs Borderless. Completely missed the ball on Studio Ghibli tickets, as they sold out.

….been many times and never been disappointed when visiting. Last few times we stayed on the far side of the island in Cala Mesquida and it’s a little gem of a place with its pine forest and lovely beach.

Lovely roads there, next level cycling.

Getting over to the north east of the island is absolute heaven.

You know what mate, the infrastructure and road users attitudes to cyclists was far superior than in the UK.

As a country we're so weird about anyone not using cars to get around. It's not a bad shout though, if we taxed cyclist you might get to keep your wfa.

Alternatively, we could encourage safer roads so pensioners can cycle around all winter, tax free, to keep warm.

I stayed in Cala d’or a few years ago …. Wouldn’t go back there to be honest.
(Sure that’s Mallorca 😂)

Perhaps it should be proportional to the vehicles that cause the most road maitenance to take place as per tax paid. I'm sure you have the figures to hand and haven't based your opinion on absolutely no evidence or level of considered thought at all

I relate to the news I here on LBC worse drivers for going through traffic lights on red = Cyclist

It was probably the fact it rained for most of the week plus there was only 1 small beach we found …. Highlight was the Melon man pushing his wooden cart around the beach and shouting whilst selling fresh melon 😂
