Travel thread 3.0

Just coming to the end of a month in Thailand, as well as a short stay in Cambodia.
A few nights in Bangkok to start, a long weekend in Phnom Penh, then to Hua Hin, from there to Chiang Mai.
Then back to Bangkok to meet up with the Mrs, we then went to Krabi, Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta.
We have one night left here on Koh Lanta, before going back to Krabi and then our last night in Bangkok.

I took a day trip to Philadelphia today and really enjoyed it. Plenty of history, plenty of Rocky 😂 and some really great food. Reading terminal market has some amazing choices and George's cheese steak will leave me full for a week!

I've never visited Thailand but I did Vietnam and Cambodia a few years a go and it was the best holiday ever.

I went to Vietnam in 2019, it is probably the best place I have been. I messed up my Cambodia visit as when booking, it my head was all over the place with jetlag and sleep deprivation. I really should have gone for longer. My aim is to come back for a longer spell, and spend more time there and go to Laos also.

I like Vietnam and have Danang/Hoi An on my list. I love Cambodia though. I've done Siem Riep and Angkor 5 times. I feel totally at peace there. It should really be one of the seven wonders. It's way better than the Taj Mahal or Chichen Itza IMO.

Been to Cambodia several times. Stayed on the coast at sihanoukville. Love the place but it’s barely recognisable from my first visit 20 odd years ago. Was deserted islands and beaches but is full of casinos now.

Loads of dodgy money flying around, and scratch the surface a bit, there’s a lot of very nasty goings on.

Aye, Sihanouikvlille is very much under Chinese influence in terms of gambling etc..
