Travel thread 3.0

Picked probs two of the worst spots in Vietnam to pick there
How so? The only negatives I find about either is Da Nang has too many Koreans so many businesses are catered towards then, and HCMC has bad traffic, but it can easily be negated by staying in the right area.

I'd like to visit elsewhere tbh, but I'm feeling lazy and just want to go somewhere familiar and it's only an hour's flight away and dead cheap to get there.

I prefer Hanoi to HCMC. It's got a cool cafe culture vibe and lots of bars if you're a drinker. Danang is on my list of places to visit.
Only been there once, maybe I'll go there instead. I enjoyed the French quarter. I've been to the other two about a dozen times but it's just so convenient to pop on over. Still, all costs about the same and pretty much equidistant from BKK, as you'll know!

Da Nang is nice but I didn’t find too much too it. HCMC is just flat out boring to me. Hanoi was so much better, Hoi An by far my favourite spot over there.

Interesting. See, for me Hoi An although pretty is just a pure tourist trap. But you might be onto something with Hanoi, maybe it's time I gave the city a second chance. Any recommendations?

So cute we're bonding over this. 🤗

I found HCMC to be fantastic. Stayed for a few nights before moving on to Nha Trang.

Having grown up with Rambo films and MIA chuck Norris etc I was always interested in the Vietnam War.
Most of the sites in the photo history from of The fall of Saigon are still there and often with battle scars to match.
Few places that some might consider tourist traps like the Cu chi tunnels, the War Museum and the bar in the Rex hotel etc, I really enjoyed. Not least of all shooting M16s M60s and AK47s at the tunnels.
Each to there own but I loved it.

Even crossing the roads in the infamous traffic was an enjoyable experience.

Was a bit fumey in the most traffic laden spots though from all the 2 stoke motorcycles etc - still not as bad a as the EO atm thought.

Edit - just checked my camera roll, this was in 2016 so things may well be quite different now!

Borneo was pure wilderness.

Jesus the jungle was hot though
