Moyes said: "I know there is something ongoing (with Rodwell) and there are talks taking place. He still has four years left on his contract but we'll be doing something.

Code:
I want him to stay, I like him and he likes the club, no Rooney fiasco this time

"Steven is at a club which suits him and because of that I'm sure he'll know what's best for him. Everton have been very good for him.

Code:
Pienaar was rotting in Germany when we threw him a lifeline, hopefully he appreciates what he has achieved here and wants a bit more with us

"What we've done well at Everton is keep hold of our players, in the main, and all those who have stayed have said they made the right decision. They see a club which is progressing.

Code:
The players that have stayed I trust and they trust me when I say we are moving towards being even stronger, and when we take that next step we will be challenging for far more than just a Euro spot

"You talk to the lads today and they'll say 'We've got a really good team and we're very close to where we want to be'. We're excited about what we've got here.

Code:
As above, basically excusing the following

"I hear a lot about clubs looking at our players but I'm relaxed about it. If anyone wanted to leave here, it would be poorer for them.

Code:
Besides Rooney, who I whipped in court, him and his agent, who has moved on to anything greater than the Moyes Everton

"I'd say that for most of the players who have left here recently it hasn't worked out for them. I could name a couple of players who have left who would have been better staying here.

Code:
Joleon Joleon whats the score?

"They recognise we're very close to being a top side and there's no need for them to go anywhere. I don't feel any need to sell anybody. There are some players we'd like on longer contracts, but every club has that.

Code:
'I don't feel' not the chairman, not the board, I'm the boss, me, the big cahuna

"We've worked hard and recruited right. I would like to add a couple of players to keep it going, but generally if I was to go into next season with the same group of players, I will not be too disappointed."

Code:
I know I am not far away, just that little bit extra will mean I can push our competitors more than I can currently, I have the pedigree, I have the belief from the players and the fans, my time is coming.

Sadly for Davey, there will be no more bargains for him, the days of players signed like Arteta, Cahill and Pienaar for a couple of million are long gone, other managers and scouts are wise to the Moyes method, and we now fight with automatic big salary clubs like Spurs when we try to unearth another gem. The longer the Moyesiah practiced miracles, the longer his competitors had to study his methods, and no one has an endless bag of tricks. The next step in the evolution of Everton will also correlate with the next step in the evolution of David Moyes. I hope for a good summer, and a solid preseason, and one or two of Moyes' first choice signings to land.

Joleon Joleon whats the score?

I salute you sir for putting that code in !

PS. Moyes is spot on in all he says there. Everton arn't where we were in 2003/2004. We're gutted when we draw and expect to win every game.

Only beaten twice in 19 games.

More improvement to come. But anyone not seeing the big picture is Everton progression needs their heads feeling.

Even this season, you can see kids coming through.

Me 'da is saying if we can keep everyone together, add to it abit this summer - stay free of injury, he can SMELL IT next season.

And I agree.

Nice, you could be Moyes interpreter for our transatlantic fans as i'm sure some of them are mystified at some of his interviews

There are still bargains out there. It's where to look for them.

And buying them before they hit 20.

CORRECTION:

I don't agree with the last bit.

There are always gems to be had. As its as much about coaching methods too. We know the club are putting out PLAUSIBLE DENIABLITY stories with supposed "targets" to put off other clubs as to our real intentions.

Basically: EVERTON ARE INTERESTED IN EVERY MAN AND HIS DOG... players wise...

That way no one really knows who Everton are after.

Simple and effective.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plausible_deniability
In politics and espionage, deniability refers to the ability of a "powerful player" or actor to avoid "blowback" by secretly arranging for an action to be taken on their behalf by a third party—ostensibly unconnected with the major player. In political campaigns, plausible deniability enables candidates to stay "clean" and denounce advertisements that use unethical approaches or innuendo based on opposition research.
More generally, "plausible deniability" can also apply to any act that leaves little or no evidence of wrongdoing or abuse. Examples of this are the use of electricity, waterboarding or pain-compliance holds as a means of torture or punishment, leaving little or no tangible signs that the abuse ever took place.

Another example of plausible deniability is someone who actively avoids gaining certain knowledge of facts because it benefits that person not to know.

But in Everton's case, this is about putting off other clubs knowing our true intentions (our = Moyes and EFC)

Example: Kenwright on TV saying we're after Moutinho, then few days later he's in Belgium signing Fellaini

Everton want to buy everyone and no one this summer :P

Let the likes of Harry Redknapp pull that one apart!

Hmm i think its one thing identifing a player with talent, what Everton also do really well is give them a platform and oppurtuinity to play - Arteta, Pienaar, Fellaini etc!

The top top clubs may sign players of quality that never get near their first team thus stifiling their development - not so at Everton.

With you on the forum - you're not wrong!

I read the article on the OS. It could have been taken from any time in the past 5 years, it's that formulaic:

"A contract's getting put in front of [insert players name] and hopefully they see the direction we're headed...Hopefully we can get a couple more in...I dont have to sell..."

Same old same old. We'll see one first teamer we'd like to keep out the door, buy a replacement for half the cost and tread water for another season...with the words ringing in our ears that we're 'not far away from making the breakthrough'.
