it's been well documented that Naughton has been in touch with Villa and now that Spurs want a bit of him. so with those two sniffing about, and they would hardly struggle to match our bid, i'll bide my time for celebration.

If he went to Spurs, Hutton would do for me as a replacement - shocking season injury-wise last time around, but he's quality really, about time Moyes signed another Scot as well, been ages!....

This may be Moyes' master plan. Make Spurs pay over the odds for Naughton, slip in the back door and offer buttons for Huttons, the one he really wants anyway!

I'd prefer Hutton, and as Chico says, if Kylie chooses Spuds we don't want him anyway. (n)

I havent seen Naughton play, but Hutton is really bad and if Harry picks everybody BUT him at RB, he must have other issues.

Lets stick with the up and coming young player.

Really wont be counting any chickens untill he signs tho.

So far we got Jo on loan, clearly, given the shockingly bad team we fielded at Bury, we will need more than him.

Problem with Harry/Spurs was injuries/fitness/three other inherited RBs.

He was excellent in Scotland - although the league up there is a bit ****!

Spurs make a pigs ear of full backs:

Bale
Gunther
Chimbona
etc

Would be mad to go there Naughton should have a good long look at Jags and see how his career has taken of.

No doubt he will be speaking to the likes of Gary Naysmith over the weekend to sound out what life is like at Goodison under Moyes, hope its all good.

Outs
Jacobsen - (RB) 30yo - Blackburn
Valente - (LB) 34yo - Released
Castillo - (CM) 26yo - Returned after loan
VDM - (WM) 29yo - Released (back into the wild)
Ins
Jo - (St) 22yo - Loan from City, season long. Cup obligations?
Peterlin - (DM) 22yo - Signed, full time.
Naughton - (RB) 20yo - Signed (nearly), expect 4 or 5 year contract with buyout clause.
Mustafi - (CB) 16yo(?) - Signed to youth from Hamburg.
Garbutt - (LB) 16yo - Signed to youth from Leeds.

Ok, so Naughton fell through, but for only a handful of games there were no guarantees about him being the finished article. So what has happened to this Rod Fanni fella from Rennes? As for Senderos, I am very unsure, Wenger does not often let quality go, and even rarer is said player allowed to leave and then turn up a success elsewhere. See: Reyes, Wright.

Ehm:

Henry Thierry
Bentley David.

I'm very happy with the signing of Jo, he's a talent and has looked impressive during pre-season - especially in the last game.

Senderos will provide good cover but I'm not sure about the price - 6 million seems a bit expensive to me. I was hoping for 4 million or even less, maybe that's not realistic in this crazy market.

We need midfielders big time though, I won't be happy until we see atleast two signing before the window shuts. It's a must really, it's certainly a weak area for us, especially outwide.

As above.

So far I'm not that sure we have improved our first team squad since last season. We have gotten a handfull of new reserveteam and youthplayers though. Jo on loan is a good thing.

Senderos would be a good signing for the central defence so we have cover there, but we're still weak on the right.

For us to progress we need a stronger right side on both defence and midfield, in addition to a creative central midfielder. As shown when Arteta is gone our creativity is significantly reduced, especially when Pienaar is having a bad day.

absolutely.
clearly we're all waiting for two decent signings.
one in midfield and one at right back.
we've been waiting for months now.
without such signings it'll be difficult to begin the new season from a position of strength.
come on moyes etc. lets see some action. (y)
