Homepage Article Transfer Window Assessment

They may still come good with time but it's disappointing the three you have listed here haven't been able to have any real impact on the first team.
It's harsh to write them off, one or two might come good; but for sure I feel Barry is a massive error on seeing what he's capable of. Then again, if he had a marauding overlapping defender banging crosses in he could maybe do something...so that's a no then!

I'd say we could and should have done the same decent business (Grealish in on loan; KDH; Alcaraz under contract) for about £40M.

We've effectively seen about £60M thrown down the toilet...as it stands right now in any case.
Personally I think we should be trying to build a team, not signing a marquee player on loan. As for KDH not for me. Basically bringing the pair of them into the team has resulted in slower build ups/transitions and less direct attacks. Resulting in us being less effective this season.

The loan signing of JG has papered over a few cracks from what I have seen. I don’t know if there are considerable funds in January but a decent natural overlapping right back has to be a priority surely.
