Couldnt see Spurs doing us any favour to be honest, surely its in there intrests to have us as weak as possible.

Watched Naghton today for Spurs more convinced then ever he wont get the right coaching at Spurs, they are such a side of wasted football talent and could have been.

You can tell by one game that he won't get the right coaching at Spurs? I very much doubt it to be honest.

Redknapp got Diarra and Muntari big moves to Inter Milan and Real Madrid and he helped develop the likes of Carrick, Cole, Ferdinand, and Lampard at West Ham. I don't like the man but he's a good manager.

If Spurs stick with him and get some stability they'll be fine, they have enough talent in there squad to be around the top six. Unless there's some sort of curse there that we don't know about.

Yeah pretty much, despite hoarding Britains best talent for the best part of a decade you would struggle to come up with any players who really stepped up at level at Spurs desipite huge potential.

Redknapp is a good manager, but hes not a coach and i dont think hes coaching staff is up to much either, lets be honest hes myore known for buying established players rather then developing them. I wouldnt give him any credit for the West Ham generation most of those players you mentioned had t leave the club to develop thier potential, he payed a fair bit for Multari who already had played in World Cups and Diarra also had stints at Chelsea and Arsenal not a bad apprentership under Mourinho and Wenger.

Just my opinion but i dont see a back room team of Bond, Sherwood et al pushing Naughton in to international class.

Simple fact is he cant and wont sign young players as we do and turn them in to top quality.

Well I certainly won't write them off like you, I try to be a realistic as possible. But your entitled to your opinion and we'll leave it at that. It'll be interesting to see what both teams go into the season like, then we can judge.

Already it is clear the number of players with great potential ended going tits up at Spirs.

Spurs are like City, really miffed that they did so poorly last season they are now trying to buy instant success.

Im not wirting Spurs of at all, they will be a direct rival, if you look at their points accumalation over the second half of the season they are going to be competitive. It will be done though by buying established players and adding to what they have already. They wont be following the developmental model we do with Arry in charge though thats my point so i dont hold out much hope for the likes of Naughton, Bale, Rose or Bostock . E.g. Crouch will sign for them.

I agree with Toccy on this one. He has not had anything to do with the poor development of players at Spurs, the younger players that have not come on were bought before his time. He had a lot to do with the development of the players that came through at West Ham. He has not really had time at Spurs yet.

This season will the key, I don't like him, but he is a wheeler dealer, cockney market trader type of manager in the transfer market, which is obviously better than us because we can't sign anyone.

I just hope his latest signings don't work!

He hardly did much at the Saints and after 2 bashes at Pompey but each time left them in a not so clever state.

Quotes attributed to Paul Hart today has Pompey in financial crisis having to sell all Arry's signings to stay afloat but in fairness he is confident of bringing in Steve Finnan on a free.

Harry is clever though the writeing was on the wall and he left. They must be in serious trouble they Multari, Diarra, Defoe, Johnson and now Crouch have been sold thats some amount of money to take in to pay debt.

To be fair to Arry hes taking an awfull lot of them to Spurs, its a pity his youth policy didnt take of at Pompey.

Chin up Kyle lad.
