Tottenham Hotspur

I just mean in general on this forum.
I wouldnt say it's a conspiracy, and I don't think it will be out and out scripting of a get out, but I genuinely can't see the league, given how it seeks to protect itself and continues to favour 'big clubs', not trying to influence Tottenham not dropping out of the league.

Doesn't matter how much influence the PL could have in swaying refs/VAR when they're just getting straight up pumped at footie.

Rigged VAR can't stop a 30-yard banger into the Top Corner.

Mate, come on.

They just lost 3-0.

There's no conspiracy to keep them up.

Believing in daft stuff like that ends up tarring us all with the conspiracy brush when there IS something legitimately dodgy going on, like Chelsea's 'punishment.'
Honestly, I'd be very surprised if the league weren't trying to, subconsciously or not, protect one of it's biggest assets. They'd be foolish not to.

Well yes. But it can step up when there is a contentious decision in a 0-0.

Tottenham know they're right in it now, they'll change tact to grind, make it scrappy and tough for other teams.

The Forest scoreline wasn't reflective of the entire game.

Well if you think the PL are out to keep Spurs up this season they're doing a god awful job of it so far.

I'm not sure how you've arrived there after reading my last message.

I think the reality of the current situation and the real jeopardy Tottenham are in will be a point of discussion for the PL and Sky. And I think it will be very interesting to follow their upcoming games especially if they are closely contested games.

Without Tottenham the leagues loses the North London Derby against the likely league champions. They lose a big 6 team from TV (the championship clubs likely to be promoted won't account for that)

It adds noise to the argument around governance oversight. (personally I think it would do the league a huge favour to let them drop).

They potentially lose one of the key decision making partners in financial strategy as its traditionally the big 6

And, it will absolutely spook the likes of Radcliffe et al who are already trying to influence the league towards maintaining status quo.
