Thought I'd have a look at games where the current top six will or might drop points. Any thoughts, or games I may have missed? I have included games at West Brom as Pepe Mel seems to have a good Plan B, and Man Utd just for fun.

Have included all the relevant last day games too.

Tues 28/1 - Liverpool v Everton
Weds 29/1 - Soton v Arsenal, Spurs v Man City
Sun 2/2 - WBA v Liverpool
Mon 3/2 - Man City v Chelsea
Sat 8/2 - Liverpool v Arsenal
Sun 9/2 - Spurs v Everton
Tues 11/2 - WBA v Chelsea
Weds 12/2 - Arsenal v Man Utd, Newcastle v Spurs
Sat 22/2 - Chelsea v Everton
Sat 1/3 - Man Utd v Man City, Soton v Liverpool, Stoke v Arsenal
Sat 8/3 - Chelsea v Spurs, Newcastle v Everton, WBA v Man Utd
Sat 15/3 - Villa v Chelsea, Spurs v Arsenal, Man Utd v Liverpool
Sat 22/3 - Chelsea v Arsenal
Sat 29/3 - Liverpool v Spurs, Arsenal v Man City
Sat 5/4 - Everton v Arsenal
Sat 12/4 - Liverpool v Man City, WBA v Spurs
Sat 19/4 - Everton v Man Utd (expect to win but added it for interest)
Sat 26/4 - Liverpool v Chelsea, Soton v Everton, Stoke v Spurs, Arsenal v Newcastle
Sat 3/5 - Everton v Man City
Sun 11/5 - Hull v Everton, Liverpool v Newcastle, Cardiff v Chelsea, Man City v West Ham, Norwich v Arsenal, Spurs v Villa

I know we are likely to drop points where we shouldn't, but these, I feel, are the crucial games.

Over to you..

I was saying in the aftermath of the West Brom game that I see a draw in the Derby, a loss for Spurs home to Citeh. Then we would have Villa at home, while Spurs and Liverpool are away to Hull and WBA respectively.

I think by the end of those games we will be sitting in 4th. With new signings in, we would have momentum going into the Spurs game also the day after Liverpool have Arsenal at home.

the 3 biggest games are obviously Liverpool, Spurs & United......but as we always find out, its the west brom & sunderland's where we seem to come unstuck....

the good thing right now is, Liverpool aren't great....their squad is no stronger than ours, so injuries and tiredness will affect them too.
We missed a great chance to put a 7 point gap between ourselves & United the last night....we needed that!....when van persie & rooney return (and possibly Mata on the way), United will go on a run of wins....
Spurs are annoying.....they haven't played well all season, but have scraped wins (usually 1-0).....if they hit form (which it looks like they might be now with Adebayor waking up), they be hard to keep up with...

the next month is crucial for us, we just need to stay in the race (while we get our injured players back)....then the returns of a fresh Barkley, Deulofeu & Coleman (who i assume will miss a few weeks now), along with McGeady & Traore well give us a spark....

Added a couple of games at Hull

We aren't strong enough to finish 4th. I think finishing 5th is also going to be hard. We've got to get WINS away from home, not draws.

We've got to play Newcastle away and we need to win.

Southampton away, must win.

Tottenham away, must win

Chelsea away, must win.

We have to win these games. I get the impression we will drop more points whether it be at home or away, I can see a few more draws on the agenda. To finish 4th, we have to win every game from now. I suppose we could afford a draw and a Loss but win is the only way to finish 4th.

Liverpool away? Can we win?
Aston Villa at home?

We still have to go to the stadium of light and play a battling Sunderland.

Sorry for the pessimism, it's how I feel.

What a load of bull

We are currently 1 point from 4th place

Are you suggesting Spurs and Liverpool are not going to drop points in the last 16 games

As for your "I can see a few more draws on the agenda", Well I would say that's stating the obvious, I can also see a few defeats, Because there is no team in this divison bar City that could win there remaining 16 games

I think the race for 4th will end up being between us and the rs. I think Sherwood will get found out against the better sides in the league and I can't see Man U getting it unless they add some quality before the end of the window. I think the fact that the rs have Suarez is what will tip the balance in their favour.

We'll win games, we'll draw games, we'll lose games, so will everybody else.

It is my opinion that the teams that drops the fewest points will finish higher.

...I think these threads are a bit silly really. History shows that in this league its almost impossible to predict where teams will win/lose points. So called easy games become difficult as the season progresses because teams are fighting for their existence. Also need to factor that certain clubs will be playing on a number of fronts (Europe, FA Cup etc). I know its a cliché, but from our perspective we can only manage what is within our remit and take each game as it comes.

It's not silly, it's interesting to see all the difficult remaining games of our (realistic) competitors for the top four, all on one page, and to discuss it.

..but all games are difficult. You might not include Sunderland at home on our list and Villa at home on the rs, but look what happened. Whats certain is that we will al lose points, its just a matter of who wins the most regardless of the opposition.
