Cappello Turned up to watch Hibbert to see if he really was a [Poor language removed] as he appeared on TV . He left Anfield convinced that actually he is alot worse

Always been a great defender but he seems to have got a lot better at the other end of the field and has put in some decent crosses lately

Has he really?

Ok he has put a few ok ones in but he has had plenty of chances.

Overall i'd say his tackling and hassling wingers is as good as its always been, yet his passing and long hoofs have been as poor as always.

He is playing his part in a solid defensive unit so credit to him.

But as Cal said he isn't good enough for a team aiming for top 4 and he will always be a weak point if we want to move on.

I like the lad and he is a very committed player but the honest truth is even if he plays as well as he can like he has been it just isn't good enough.

There is a few of them in the current squad and he isnt the weakest link in the current 11

Two things about Hibbert:

1) Came back after a long layoff against Chelsea of all teams and didn't look like he'd been out at all.

2) My favorite Hibbert moment was last year against Man City when he completely shut down their danger man, Martin Petrov. Aggravated him so much that he kicked out at someone and got sent off.

Like I said in another thread last week, one of my favorite Everton players.
