Learning off Rooney by the looks of it.. constantly passing to the opposition
That's why they bought Proven Winner Wayne back to the club isn't it? Jonjoe and Dominic will be sneaking a crafty fag after training soon, and before you know it Tom will have been caught drink driving.

Lost all confidence hasn't he. I don't think it helps that we don't play a passing game so maybe it's partly players not making runs for him but his distribution has been shocking lately.
Pretty much sums it up. Is probably also tired. Its a long season for a teenager who's still growing.

Nothing to play for, a young player struggling with form and confidence. Another young player like Beni waiting in the wings. Somebody who really needs the game time. I dont understand why the manager cant see this. Give Tom a break, take him out the firing line for the last few games and lets have a look at Beni.

Reading some of the comments on here last night, if they are representative of the shouts at GP on match day, you can’t really blame our young players from jumping ship when the chance arises.

He’s 19, had just over 12 months in the first team squad and has had 3 managers this season, hence why he might be out of sorts and also low on confidence.

Doesn’t hide though and always looking to be involved and has more life in him than anybody in the side bar maybe Gana, Walcott and Seamus.

“Yeah but what’s he done this season?” Blah blah blah (Sigh)

There are definitely issues with young Tom that need working on at USM Finch Farm, and I wonder if that’s contributing to his poor season - when he’s with the 1st team they’ll be working on tactics, set up , shooting etc is he getting enough individual attention to help him improve?
You can see when he comes on that he slots well into the position asked of him, fills space to prevent the opposition running through midfield in a way others don’t. It’s hard to figure what’s going on in his head with some of his passing, at times his fellow midfielders don’t help him out enough by being available for a pass, but his execution of forward passes has been poor.
For me he doesn’t need a loan out next season, if we are going to succeed as a club we need to be an organisation from manager downwards who can take 19 year olds with potential and improve them, only shipping them out if they need more game time and exposure to first team football elsewhere.

As far as I can see it, our lack of movement right throughout the team has lead to a good few of our problems. Even throw ins, we never give more than a single option, which regardless of anything, it always ends up back with the thrower.

He was bad last night, granted, but give the lad a break. He's still a kid and "proven winner" Wayne gives the ball away constantly and doesn't receive half the abuse.

Tom is probably the player who'd benefit from better coaching under a different team more than most. The raw materials are there he just needs to be moulded. What's he going to learn from that team of dinosaurs at Finch Farm at the minute? All they're interested in is stats.

The Goodison groaners will have flayed his self belief soon at this rate and he'll be scared to make a forward pass. We're some of the worst supporters in the country when it comes to our own players.

Spot on. If he does leave it’ll be the same bellends calling him a rat.

He needs to be taken out of the firing line, he's not playing well and looks devoid of confidence. that doesn't mean he's a bad player just in bad form. He still has time on his side to improve in the coming years, hopefully with a better set of senior players around him.

Not really working out is is Tom?

You’re a complete waste of space. Fk off and get out of this club, or at the very least get a hair cut and TRY PASSING TO THE OTHER PEOPLE IN BLUE!!!??? I mean, how effing hard CAN it BE?????

I don’t care how old or young he is. He isn’t good enough and he needs binning at the end of the season. Stop stealing a living ‘Tommy Davvo’ and fk off.

100% spot on.

He'll learn nothing in the championship and will only regress. He needs to play with and against top players to continue learning.

We also need to get our coaching set up right. It's as if we only work on tactics in training (in fact I doubt we even do that sometimes) and seem to assume that every player is the finished article. All players, but especially the younger ones, need one to one individual coaching to work on the sides of their game that need improving. I don't see this happening with us and it isn't just under Allardyce.

Coaching can improve many aspects but if the some of the basics appear to be absent then lower league football beckons. The jury is well out on young Davies. We shall see in a year or two. Always good to develop your own talent though. Everton try hard at that.
