You do realise that no one was literally going to be strung up don't you? The comment was made because he doesn't rate particularly rate Davies as a footballer. Nothing to do with jealousy.

yes i realise, thank you for clarifying. I just dont think its needed. I prefer to support young talent, not make comments like that. I understand that these lads need time to develop and it must be even harder in a term where the established pros are playing poor.

kenny has He has had one bad game, thats it.
Holgate - has been our most consistant centre half
DCL - has had no service, of the three iv mentioned he has proably been the most poor but if you prefer niasse then we just view players a lot differently.

Kenny has had one bad game? When? This week? He's absolute crap. He was abysmal today.

Holgate has come in and let's be honest, the defence is still leaky. Still our best option. Hardly stellar.

Calvert-Lewin is appalling. You can moan about service to him but look at that chip from Rooney today for him to run on to, he miskicked, fell over and it went out for a goal kick. He is so bad.

yes you defend someone who uses the word "he would be strung up"

comment about money, was because surely the only reason someone would make such an idiotic comment would be due to jealousy.

Or maybe I am upset at seeing my club become a laughing stock, a club going through its longest trophy barren spell in its entire history, a club who hasn't even won a derby for 16 matches, a club who hasn't had shots on target in 3 of their last five games, a club who were once the best in the country reduced to squabbling over whether we should give a bottom half chancer of a manager another season, a club who has been horrendously mismanaged tactically and executively, a club where there is no direction or accountability over transfers, a club where we accept defeat at top six clubs now as long as it's not too embarrassing, a club where we destroy foreign players who have played a total of 180 minutes of premier league football (Klaassen), and let local lads underperforming week in week out (Davies, Hibbert, Kenny), get away with murder.

Our whole mindset needs changing.

The problem is that people are blind when it comes to the younger players. We've got a decent bunch at the club but none of them particularly stand out. Right now I wouldn't say any of them are destined to become top players.

I like Davies and do think there's some potential there for him to become a Mark Noble type player for us, but people are more than entitled to disagree. I can fully understand why they would given his performances of late.

Fair but could copy and paste this comment into the Schneiderlin, Gueye, McCarthy, etc etc threads. All utter turd.

I hate all our midfielders. Except Rooney. And now Sam refuses to play him there.

Gueye is the one doing my head in the most at the minute tho. I think I'd try Schneiderlein and Mccarthy, assuming Sam will continue to be a clown and play Rooney as a 10.

Blaming the wrong people sadly, not the youngsters who should be targeted or are responsible for whats happening with the club. Kenny for one will be a great right back. Holgate, kenny, davies DCL etc are at the start of their careers. Its the seasoned pros who should be held accountable.

He may well end up a Mark Noble, but let him have a chance his only 19. its not a case of being blind, its understanding development, a good example is Harry Kane, he wasn't rated at all and now look at him.

As a defender Kenny has been good, i cant see how you can say his absolute crap.

Holgate - the defence has been leaky but he came in and has done a better job than williams, jags and keane.

And CL - the service has been appalling, the lad works none stop for a team that is normally set up to primarily defend and again like the other lads is new to 1st team football.

gamesof opinions, and i can see some points but i think they deserve a chance.

If anything he's been under scrutinised because he's young and a blue, gotten away with some dreadful performances at times, he's been utter gash since the back end of last season.

I disagree that he’s been ‘utter gash’ but then our definition of gash might differ. Anyway, my overriding point is he’s at the very start of his career and is learning his trade. I just think it’s unfair to go after him properly at this point. I’ll be consistent though and say we probably shouldn’t big these lads up too much either. But it’s like anything, he’s literally just starting in the premier league so some slack needs to be cut.

What does he bring? What type of player is he? He isn't particularly creative, he isn't a ballwinner, he isn't a goalscorer, he isn't a dribbler, and he is incredibly slow, I honestly don't know what he brings to the table, if he was a Koeman signing he would have been strung up outside the Park End by now.

He's a box to box midfielder on his day who can pick a pass.

The latter part is extremely important. I mean, we saw people advocating Davies as a future England captain last year. Further to that there were people saying Coleman wouldn't get his place back. Mad.
