Davies, holgate and Kenny should all be getting a lot more minutes, if they aren't deemed good enough now to get games when we have a weak and ageing squad then no chance on earth they will get a game if we strengthen with the supposed load of money we have available lol

My Southampton mate said when Koeman left that he doesn't play youth. I took it as a bitter swipe at the time, I'm starting to believe it now.

Short term managers who see a club as a stepping stone in there career will never play a young player with a long term goal of developing them past more veteran players, they will go the safe option instead, mourinho would have been managing United instead of Ferguson then scholes, both nevilles, butt, giggs and beckham, out of those maybe only Gary Neville and giggs would have ever made the United team, and not 100% sure he'd have trusted a young giggs either.

100% sure he'd have not trusted and of the central players and would have bought ready made mid 20s layers instead.

For me anyway you need a manager willing to trust and try the young players at the right time.

he was the same in the pre season games in dresden. while all the first teamers were floundering about not competing, davies would come on and inject some desire and passion into the game.

i thought it was because our team were on a pre season trip and taking it easy. but its the same in the last few games !

Bringing young players through should always,ideally ,be achieved gradually. As fans we always demand to see more of the wonder kids but the step up from the low intensity of U23 games to the white hot business end of football,actual PL games,is massive. Much as they need games they need to be prepared for angry unforgiving fans like myself sitting pitch side.As nice and genial as I am away from Everton ,at the match I turn into an angry ,invective strewing demon of hate(unless we're winning of course) and make a mistake in front of of me and I'll tell you what I think of your abilities. Let them find their feet and in the process learn to disregard idiots like me is the way to go.

People know the lot don't they? FFS. He may very well make it, I'm suspicious as to why he isn't in the England u21 squad.
