I’d have selected him over Garner. Blues will get all giddy because Garner knows how to pass a ball forward, but you need to be able to win the central midfield battle before anything else, otherwise you get overrun and end up losing.

That’s why going 4-4-2 from the start was ridiculous. We should have had 5 in midfield, and Davies should have been one of them given our limited options.

i dont think iv ever seen davies win any kind of central midfield battle in all the years hes been at the club.
hes a poor player who should have been shipped out years ago,
he doesnt contribute anything to the team.
the championship is his level,so he may be usefull next season.

I agree that Davies is play-off level championship standard, which is the same level I place Garner. But with regards yesterdays game, I think Davies would have offered a bit more in the central midfield battle than Garner. I think he’d have been the better selection given our very limited options.

2016 is when this ponzie of a footballer his debut.

He neither has the skill, not the will to become something. Doesn't even have enough confidence to demand a move elsewhere for regular football. Just wants to suck £££ of his boyhood club which itself is shambles.

I never understand how we the likes of Davies or Holgate stay at this club yet allow the likes of Bernard and James leave.

Never been a fan or really a basher of him but that incident when he went to cross late on but kicked the ball against his other foot for it to trickle out for a goal kick summed up his entire career here for me.

Nothing player really all things considered. Very pleased he'll be moving on in the summer but wish him well wherever he goes.

7 years now he's been in and around the squad and not even come close to cementing a regular starting spot which says it all.

Garner was massively out of his depth, he may strut and act like Glen Hoddle but he was completely and totally over run. I doubt he will play again all season.
