He’s not the reason we were awful and got beat but, for me, he is the poster boy for where we are at. A culmination of years of accepting mediocrity. He’s utterly garbage but has played 170 times for Everton. Has he played more than 5 decent games in all that? The rest have just been a grey blur of nothingness. We’ve obviously wasted millions on utter trash also but an acceptance of sheer rank averageness has also played its part. How is he still getting minutes in 2023?
