Tom Davies was not the problem tonight though he'll get the blame from the usual suspects. He's a limited midfielder who should be playing in championship but so should plenty of others

Not the problem, but probably a damning indicator of what’s wrong at the club.

He’s never been good enough, yet he’s managed to play 169 games for Everton now.

What other club holds on to deadwood like Davies for this long?

I'm gobsmacked this guy still get a game.

Lasted 30 minutes today watching the game, just knew we were clueless. I like lampard but the club comes first.

He got to go.

If you can believe this, since the Premier Leagues inception 31 years ago, Davies is 26th in League Appearances for Everton.

How has that happened? He’s absolutely garbage lol

Had to check that. Truly astonishing. To all the people who down the years claimed he was a decent back up, he never was. He puts no pressure on those in front of him in the squad and when he's called on to do a job he never fails in letting us down.

Yeah, I checked it myself, because it’s just an insane amount of games to have played, which such indecision on what he actually does.

It’s not like a Jonjoe Kenny who we knew was a full back and garbage.

We’ve tried Davies in so many roles, and he doesn’t have a job. He’s even captained us!

Seen them both, both abysmal too.

Yet still played more than both of them (PL Era). Madness.

Don’t think we even know what his “best” position is yet.

You put him in the Championship he's going to struggle. I doubt he will hold down first team football anywhere in the top 2 divisions.

The only thing I can say for him is at least we didn't do something seriously stupid like pay £20m for him and hand him a £120k a week salary. He's probably about League One / Two quality though, yet has made several million off of Everton being the biggest soft touches in world football. If salary would reflect his actual talent, he'd have been on about £3k a week, and I'm sure he'll be on something like £20/30k a week, so is likely 1000% overpaid in my eyes. An utter travesty that he wasn't bombed out of the club around 2019.
