…I get the impression he’s really knuckled down this season to get himself fit & earn a new deal but he’s always been ‘heavy legged’ & doesn’t have the ability or technique in possession to counter his physical inefficiencies.

Which is nuts when you think back to his goal v Man City all those years ago.

Can't help but feel he had that coached out of him to become a more 'rounded' midfielder.

…nope, don’t think it’s anything to do with coaching. It was just a magical moment and time players have in their careers, I doubt he was ever top drawer.

There were reports in subsequent years he wasn’t the best trainer & he was falling short of his fitness benchmarks, perhaps he wasn’t as dedicated as he should be. He’s looked heavy legged, immobile with no powers of recovery.

i just think he’s one of those very lucky ordinary footballers who’ve been fortunate enough to play at a time of extraordinary contracts and wealth.

Davies and Holgate have been stealing a wage at Everton for years now. They're also happy to plod along like a few others, and that promotes the wrong attitude within the dressing room.

Davies is a League One level player, and that's being kind. I just wish he hadn't scored that goal against City because he's been milking it for every last drop.

7 months give or take till his contract runs out and still no talk of a extension hopefully we’ve learnt our lesson with him now , I know I have that performance Tuesday was the final straw for me

That was his 'John Jensen' moment wasn't it? Remember the Danish midfielder scored a screamer in the Euro 92 final and signed for Arsenal. Loads of Arsenal fans I knew as a kid thought he'd do it as the norm. Twas the exception to the rule kind of thing.

'He's through on goal, and must score'.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Exactly the kind of player we need to be moving on if we’re to improve really. We know after 143 appearances that he’s not good enough for the premier league. He’s a championship player. That’s not a slight on him, just the facts.
