No were near as bad as made out.
When he had a little run under Ancelotti he was good in a few games especially the win at Anfield.
He has never had a run in the side and had the chance to improve, will be a great signing for an upper championship side and id not be surprised if he makes it back to the prem if he can stay fit.

Never had a run 😂 he’s played over 160 games. Funny how his best games came in empty stadiums. The luckiest youngster in our history to get so many years and games. An ambitious club would have got rid years ago.

He’s a championship player and there’s where he will end up even on a free, says it all

Nail on head mate, successive managers have seen him, and accordingly dropped him.

Poor Tom.

If only Tom’s athleticism matched his ability to see and make good runs. He just hasn’t been the same player since the fear of Everton creeped into him. When he was a fearless young lad with nothing to lose he took his chance. It’s obvious he lacks that now and his physical attributes can’t keep up with the league.

He's had us off for about £5m so fair play to him. That's if he's on an extremely moderate £20k a week. For somebody who is arguably only slightly better than a regular athletic lad of the same age, he's done remarkably well. He'll definitely get a gig in the Championship or up in Scotland, but no way he'll ever play in the Premier League again.
