They got into space, completed the pass and put the ball in the net. It was offside and a mistake. Offsides happen every game to every team. All teams have a "what if" moment. Poor players make poor decisions. Doesn't mean they bottled anything.

Well no it wasn't because the player he was passing it to was offside.

I don't think he deserves any stick for it as we are talking inches and milliseconds here but it was obviously not the right decision.

No. He made a poor decision. It's not unusual for poor players to make suboptimal decisions.

i think the problem is more he doesnt even have enough confidence to shoot from that position. a premier league footballer doesnt the confidence from that position is criminal

If you swapped him and Mina, everyone would be giving Mina a pass and blaming Tom for being offside.

It’s pleasing that we were looking for a winner and not camping out on our own 18 yr box though.

Looking at it again it would have taken a very accurate shot to beat the United keeper.

Hindsight is wonderful but I for one won't slate Tom for what was a spur of the moment decision.

As posted elsewhere, had he shot and failed to score the warriors would be slating him for not squaring the ball.

how can he not know Mina is off? He would have noticed it when he looked up to pass to him… only Everton can mess up a 2 on 1 with the gk to go top of the league and it’s down to beating weak mentally and has been for a long time …. Play well when the pressure is off and as soon as we need to win to go top, go through , get top 4 top 6… the players bottle it

Did the linesman know Mina was off? He didn't know because PL football is fast and it was close. And mostly because he's not really the one who should be looking to make sure, Mina should.
