Trust Martinez's judgement with midfielders completely. Cleverly is the sort of player we tend to get a lot out of, obviously got ability, but struggling to show it currently. Presuming it's a reasonably small fee I'd be happy to have him here.

I'm ok with this for a decent fee. Loads of european experience, still young, may come good.

Out of favor so he shouldn't cost too much. Think he could be solid for us even if not spectacular.

Loads of upside, little downside. Think he'd be better for us than United.

He best pack this in his suitcase.

I actually hope we sign him, he just seems the type of player who under the right manager and at the right club he can become a top player.

As we seen this season when Martinez puts so much of his confidence in a player he can really get the most of them.

I don't want to spend much money in him though, Van Gaal is going to have a clean out so hopefully we can get him for very cheap.

yes, I appreciate that lol...but if he was playing for EFC, would he play in an Osman position or a McCarthy position?

OK...let's have a think on that then. Ossie is terrible in a deep role...too small, too slow. He's been played on the wing, where he doesn't fit cause he's too slow. His best position really is in the #10 spot...where, frankly, he can make an impact with his passing and vision...even if he has short comings such as size and speed. I'd reckon if we signed him, Cleverley would play a bit deeper...not the advanced AM role.

Which could mean, if this thread is indeed true, that Barry might not be in the cards
