Positions are out the window, you can forget about attacking midfielders playing deeply centrally for me he wants a certain type of player in the McCarthy, Cleverly, mould. You have to look at the three in front of the double pivot as strikers - they need to contribute 8+ goals a season to the system each - if we play with one up front we need 15 goals, but also someone who can play the lead role withing that system and adapt to our style of play.

I beleive in Kone.

The three behind the forward is an are we need to look to improve in term sof goals and assists, for me we should have players who can provide 8 goals and 8 assists if your going to play this system and be realistcaly in Cl territory. Last season we had:

Del: 3 goals/4 assists.
McGeady 0 goals/1 assist
Pienaar 1 goal / 3 assists
Osman 3 gaols/ 6 assists
Barkley 6 goals/4 assists

Milrrallis (was by far our most productive) with 9 goals/7 assists.

Lukake incidently was sublime with 15 gaols/9 assists.

The above was masked a little by both Baines 5 gaos/5assists and Coleman 6 goals/2 assists.

Barkley didn't get any assists, i'm sure.(only going from stats on sky when they profiled him)

Its a no brainer. Good age, showed good form in his season at Wigan and the first season back at Utd. Anything from 5-8million and lets get the lad signed and move on to the next target.

Gibson, McCarthy, Osman, Barry (should be sign) and Cleverley vying for 2 midfield spots is exactly the competition and depth we need with Europa league coming up.

It was wrong. He's not had many 1 or 2. But that was more out of bad luck than anything else.

Not to mention if you look at quite a few (arse & utd ) off top of my head, Ross made the goal without actually being the player that played the final ball.

That's why I'm really not concerned about his assist stat at the moment.

Yes his chances created stat and assist stat are very different, it said he created quite a few, which means other people aren't finishing them.

Got a sneaky feeling if we got him he could amount to something. Good little workhorse in the middle of the park along side McCarthy. if he upped his work rate for us and focused on playing simple passing football(what Martinez will
Encourage no doubt) I really think he could be a class signingsigning

Yep, always look at chances created. Like against Arse away in the FA Cup, Barkley puts it on a plate for Mirallas, who somehow misses, Lukaku bundles it in, Mirallas's assist.

Or on the flip side, Gerrard got loads of goals and assists this season, but that wouldn't tell you the full story as most of his goals were pens and almost all his assists came from corners and free kicks.

Rather save the extra few million an not buy Cleverley or Milner, I would rather play a traffic cone than either of them.

Rather get the starters we need in before getting the squad players in myself, need a striker a left winger and to sort the Barry situation out, if Barry signs we don't need either of these two imo assuming Gibson comes back strong this pre season, they will just make it all the harder to progress Lundstram and Ledson through who could be the future.
