Moyes, the destroyer of confidence. This I think plays the biggest factor in Cleverleys nosedive in form.

My housemate in Uni, an avid United fan, believed Cleverley to be the absolute business. I remember Hanson et al raving about him during the 2010-2011 season whilst on loan at Wigan.

Incidentally Roberto garnered his highest points total with him in the team that season and let's face it - if he was right about McCarthy then we should trust him regarding Cleverley.

For 6M I would 100% do this deal. I think Bobby knows how to get the best out of him. He was boss at Wigan.

I think the typical Moyse tactic of square peg/round hole had an affect of Tom. Could be a very good signing at that price

Of all the rumours so far this summer this annoyingly feels the most likely.

When you think Cleverley and Defour would both cost the same amount roughly, i know which i'd prefer like, although theirs always the possibility that Martinez is the manager who can bring out the player he was originally hyped up as being which makes it a frustrating one

I'd still say 6m is too high considering how much stick he has been receiving from fans, press etc though, try to knock them down to a bare minimum they can be, 4m and yeah no doubt would welcome the signing as its a no lose situation

Like with all our transfers for 4-6m though it depends on if picking these types of player up will leave us without the money to actually buy quality as well that doesn't need to be 'rebuilt' or nurtured along slowly
