The studs are up. We know it didn't go near him and shouldn't be a red card because we see things from a common sense pov. But these refs are guided by interpretation of a law regarding dangerous intent. The ref in the stand would have backed Atkinson up there.

Are you watching the same GIF as me, because as far as I can see at no point whatsoever in that tackle are the studs up in any way. The tackle is controlled and a yard away from the player too.

You're having a bit of a shocker with that assessment to be fair!

sorry, i meant as a way of obstruction not fall over. simply, that shirt "tug" if it were that was not enough to obstruct welbeck so it shouldn't have been a foul, but the ref's looking it as "shirt tug = foul", when he should have been looking at "was that enough to make welbeck fall over like a baby giraffe like he did".

Any shirt tug is a foul. You're not allowed to grip on to a players shirt full stop. The refs are ridiculously lenient on set pieces with it, but it doesn't matter what the force of the pull is, the tug on Welbeck is a penalty every day of the week.

does anyone think ronaldo can go down as the greatest of all time?

he can't do too much more, surely?
Maradona mate. I don't recall him ever making a mistake and he flowed past players effortlessly like all the old greats. Ronny and Messi are deffo the best today but one of the reasons they stand out is not many can beat a man whereas years ago every team had ball players.... but of all time??? Not for me.

too much juicing for maradona to get the top spot, I'd rather have lothar in my team

Why am I giving myself false hope that Newcastle will beat Arsenal? I need taken out to the back and shooting.
You would think by the law of averages they would at least be due a half decent result given their position in the table & then you realise it is Pardew and the players have been on strike since they sold Cabaye. Might give them a chance if the appointed moyes for the last couple of games.

it truly is the hope that kills you lol

Yup. I could handle it when we were doing relatively pants in February, to only then get within touching distance and to throw it needlessly away
