Barça need a plan B.

Seems like we've been here before but Barca should have done more to keep hold of Ibrahimovic even if it meant losing Pep.

I have never agreed with this plan b idea.

The problem is not executing plan a.

However I dont think either was the problem last night. It was an unbelievably weak and indifferent performance in such a huge game.

Plan A was there to be used last night. The space was there for Messi, Cesc, Neymar and Xavi at times but that quick ball to feet at the edge if the box just wasnt tried. Theyd look at it, pause and then go sideways or wide.

And wide was where a mountain of possession was lost with the two brasilians.

How much, if any, has the proposed transfer ban affected the squad?

i know that at the least its probably going to be delayed as you appeal it so that you can recruit this summer but if the team were to react I woild have expected a fighting response such as "look we don't need any players anyway". Yet Barca have just been pretty limp since.

I cant even remember if the ban waa before the first tie, but that was one if the performances of the season. Mades it harder to understand the second leg mess.

Barça offered nothing last night, the amount of deep crosses delivered by Alves to no one in particular was turbogash. They haven't beaten nor has Messi scored in the last 4/5 games against Atleti so they really should have tried something different last night. But Tata's subs were so predictable, their squad is too thin and they couldn't even lash Pique up front last night, will be a while before they win the CL again.

On the plus side at least it means the Chelsea fans won't be coming over to BCN eh @bicycleheader!!

I for one am enjoying the decline. Their dominance was so utterly immense it actually removed all competition from their games. It was magnificently impressive- how good they were at their game- but i for one prefer a bit of competition and unpredictability over 90 minute piggy-in-the-middle contests.

When Everton reach those levels of bossness I will never tire of it

Yeah could do without ever seeing them again...

But I have to disagree again and say it wasn´t the ideas or tactics or lack thereof, it was the bizarre disinterest and lack of effort.

We saw only a week ago that Barca´s tactics can work against Atleti. Okay they didnt get the win in the Camp Nou but it was still one of their best performances of the season.
