2-0, they're ripping them a new one. think that should have been offside, the player is standing in an offside position and puts off naughton as his concentration goes - that's surely interfering like?

I agree with you, his presence in an offside position gained his team the advantage they went on to score from so it shouldn't have stood.

But, i don't think the rules for intefering cover a player not attempting to play the ball when there is a possibitly other players in an onside position could get it, regardless of whether he distracts an opposition player (except for the keeper)

there isn't a rule - that's why i think this offside rule is [Poor language removed]. i seem to be making the same point every weekend, because every weekend it happens. seriously don't undertsand what was wrong with the the original offside rule of being in an offside position when the ball was kicked forward, is offside. it was simple to understand and it was a rule.

now it's another bloody interpretation.
