looking that way, they've come across a formula that has gotten them fourth, other teams will adapt at some point and we will see what their sleezy manager will do then, but for the time being they are a top four team in this league, we have to keep going and see what the summer brings, first season for berto, I'd have taken this, but once we had promised more its a bit harder to take, and a very everton transfer window is the real kick in the teeth from bill and co

Mate, the only formula Rodgers stumbled across was Ferguson's retirement and Moyes' incompetency. If SAF was still at United Liverpool would have spun out of control knowing almost for certain they wouldn't get top four. It's unfortunate United hired a complete divvy as a manager but there it is.

and AVB ha

GD means nothing tbh, we had -1 but were the 4th best team in the league.

a team gets more points for three 1-0 wins, than a team who wins two 6-0 and then draws 4-4.

If you study tables from past years as a rule 0 GD is always mid table and plus goes up and minus down.
Okay you always get anomalies lets hope spurs aren't one.

I agree they wouldnt get fourth with fergie there, but sucking teams into a high line, and hitting it direct works for them with the quality up top, coupled in with being a good set piece team, its gotten them fourth, its annoys me that the media keep on about them being purists, but it has worked. It won't work forever, though, but it is what it is right now. It plays to their strengths and covers their weaknesses, meaning the likes of henderson dont have to act like midfielders.

the teams in 3rd and 4th have a better GD than the teams in 1st and 2nd.

i know that would change with city winning the game in hand. But WBA are 16th and are only 3 worse off then newcastle in 8th.

well i fear thats that gentlemen, get used to 5 minute long shots of that bulb fest on the kop before kickoff on a tuesday next season, spurs have lost bale and brought in an idiot to manage them, utd have moyes and we have a terrible chairman who hinders all progress

Beautifully summed up.

I know they'll buy a few but Liberpewls squad is terrible. Let's see how they cope with that.

what is sheerwood's obsession with bentaleb? he seems neat and tidy, but surely a middle two of paulinho and dembele would be prefect? two of the greatest box-to-box midifielders in the prem, good in both halfs and providing amazing energy.

what a miss from chadli. he's not lived anywhere near up to the hype.

what's everyone's thoughts on ruddy? do you reckon he could have been our no.1?

don't think he's good enough for a team as big as ours if i'm honest as it's totally different staying focused to make a save after having 60 mins doing nothing as opposed to being alert all game - but he's hardly put a foot wrong in the prem.
