Nah, just do away with the 2nd leg for a semi. Keep it neutral venue and one game.

Remember a UEFA cup game in 86. Real Madrid lost the 1st leg 5-1, but ended up winning the 2nd 4-0 and went through. So it does and can happen.

The reason why I think Man United did so well in the 90's was because you had all the great players like Cantona and Giggs but you also had Nicky Butt doing the "dirty work" as well. You can't have 11 flair players and you can't have 11 traditional pro's. You need a mixture to succeed

Of course you need balance mate.

You need a Makalele. A Deschamps. A Carsley.

They are just the exact opposite to the sort of player that excites me. I think that's where my James McCarthy problem originated.

My brain would rather have 11 Benito Carbone's than 11 Steve Lomas'.
