"Look at the job he did at plucky everton" - press judged him on the club in the state that he inherited, not the one which it became

He was the top young manager in world football for his first five years here where he performed miracles. However, after that, when we had games we were expected to win to push on, he couldn't get it done.

What we're seeing here is all of that magnified. Moyes cannot get the best out of good players in big games. He instils fear and negativity.

It's less than 12 months since the same side was walking the league - not five years!!

True but city and Chelsea aren't as dysfunctional as last season, arsenal are much better as well, ditto the merseyside clubs.

Starting to think wenger played a blinder selling RVP to them, £13m a year for 4 years for a guy who won't be worth that for the last 2 seasons, possible

And warnock just said that mourinho couldn't have done better there, comedy genius is neil

Hahaha. I actually feel a little sorry for him!

I didn't watch the game. If Michael Owen's commentary was the highlight then I'm glad I didn't! (or was is sarcasm?)

Indeed, he's someone who think could do brilliantly at villa (and ok at Newcastle) to get them up to a top 7 level but he won't take a club much further.

Basically, he's another hodgson/Bruce rioch, massively promoted above his abilities. Totally different skillset to managing a man united to Everton, how so many people can't see stuff like this is beyond me.

They will still get a CL place. In fact, going out of the cup gives them a bit of breathing space in that respect.

I expect a big month in the transfer market for them and some quality in the middle brought in.

Moyes is a complete duffer though and it'll all be in spite of him they do get a CL spot not because of him. If they don't get a CL spot Moyes will be out...no question.
